Gruevski: no success in our communication with the Social Democrats so far

Macedonian Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski said that attempts to maintain communication with the opposition Social Democrat Alliance of Macedonia (SDSM) have so far failed. SDSM boycotts the Parliament ever since it lost the April elections, and this was one of the main critical points of the recently published European Union progress report.

- All this while we had certain communication at different levels, between the two parties, but we had no success. We remain always open for meeting them, Gruevski told the press on Tuesday. The Prime Minister was responding to a media question about the level of communication between the two parties.

Social Democrats demand that a non-partisan Government is formed to prepare for new elections, something that the ruling VMRO-DPMNE party, which won full mandate in the elections, has refused to accept.
