PM Zaev commits to permanent solution for Kolska railway factory

Prime Minister Zoran Zaev met Tuesday with union representatives of the Veles-based factory for railway vehicles "Kolska", committing to a permanent solution for the facility.

The 125 "Kolska" employees will be paid the six delayed monthly salaries as soon as possible, whereas a meeting over a permanent solution to the factory's status would be held by the end of the week.

Union representatives proposed that "Kolska" returns under the jurisdiction of public enterprise "Macedonian Railways", since the state benefits from it.

They added that foreign companies had been used in recent years for maintenance of passenger and cargo coaches, despite the factory being specialized in the sector.
