Prices of 192 commercial flats lowered, another 292 set to be built

The government has decided to lower the price of 192 commercial apartments in Skopje, Ohrid and Strumica, which have been built by the joint-stock company for construction and management of residential and commercial property. Three more buildings with 292 commercial apartments will be built in Skopje in the coming period.

Ohrid sees the biggest drop in flat prices, namely by EUR 100 per square meter, Minister of Transport and Communications Mile Janakieski told a news conference on Wednesday. A square meter of 40 apartments now costs EUR 599 compared to the pervious price of EUR 700.

126 apartments are offered on sale in Skopje, whose price drops by EUR 30 per square meter i.e. from EUR 880 per square meter to EUR 850.

In Strumica, the price is lowered by EUR 70 per square meter. 26 flats are being on sale in Strumica whose initial price is EUR 499.

“With this decision, the government has no intention to break the real estate market. On the contrary, we want to offer prices that are affordable for those citizens who are interested in buying a state-built apartment. In fact, with this decision we want to bring the government-run project “Buy a House, Buy a Flat” closer to the citizens. According to latest data, 470 flats have been bought so far through this project,” said Janakieski.

By the end of the year, it was announced that 126 commercial flats in Prilep, Demir Hisar and Resen will be put into function.
