Agricultural subsidies paid fully and on time, says Gruevski

Almost MKD 400 million have been paid so far for viticulture and additional MKD 150 million will be paid starting tomorrow, Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski announced Sunday.

A bulk of these funds is intended for winegrowers in the region of Kavadarci, Gruevski told reporters after putting a local road into service.

“We are fulfilling our promises in this region that winegrowers and other farmers will be always fully supported and on time. The payment of subsidies takes place in line with the planned dynamics. We will keep on fulfilling what we have set out to do and what we have promised,” vowed Gruevski adding that at total of MKD 850 million would be paid for plant cultivation.

Nearly EUR 14 million is the current amount of debts that have been written off. “8,200 citizens are meeting the conditions for these measures, but the figures are not final. They are expected to rise because documents are still being reviewed,” the Macedonian PM said answering a journalist question.

The debt write-off was one of the projects promised by the government in the last elections that is being implemented diligently, according to him.
